Italy: 'I could get married tonight' says Clooney
Rome, 6 October (AKI) - Hollywood star George Clooney says he "could get married this evening" in an interview due to be published on Wednesday by Italian weekly Tu Style. The 48-year-old heartthrob has been dating the Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis for several months.
"I don't want to say anything, because this doesn't seem an appropriate place, but yes, I think I could get married tonight," Clooney tells Tu Style, which is owned by Berlusconi's Mondadori group.
Clooney and Canalis will be attending the fourth international Rome film festival later this month for the screening of his new film, Up in the Air, a comedy directed by Jason Reitman.
Thirty-one-year-old Canalis was the focus of intense media interest when she appeared on the red carpet last month with Clooney at the Venice film festival. On her Facebook page, she has written she's "ready to settle down with the right man".
Clooney, one of the world's most eligible bachelors, who owns a villa on Lake Como north of Milan and spends time in Italy, is a frequent guest at the festival.
In the interview with Tu Style, Clooney says he believes everything that happens to people is due to chance - including his own career breaks.
"Everything is down to chance. Everything that we do depends on chance. The honest truth is that I ended up appearing in a TV series called ER, watched by millions of viewers. That's what makes you famous, apart from what you do and who you are."
