The merger of Adn with Kronos in 1963 created the daily political news agency, Adnkronos, located in Via Flaminia before it moved to Viale Buozzi. The headquarters moved to Piazza della Torreta and then Via Ripetta in the centre of Rome. At this time, an editorial office was established in Milan. The agency also established international partnerships, with exclusive Italian rights to The Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times. Later, international partnerships were created with other agencies such as Xinhua, DPA, Jiji Press and Europa Press.
In 1982, Adnkronos Books was established and in 1987 Adnkronos Services, which eventually became Adnkronos Communication, which now includes an audiovisual unit. Giuseppe Marra, already sole administrator became director of Adnkronos and president of the GMC-Adnkronos Media Group, after buying a 98 per cent shareholding of the group and becoming the main shareholder. Piemme Editoriale Finanziaria Spa bought Adnkronos in 1978, and from 1999 changed its name to Giuseppe Marra Communications (GMC). In 1995 Adnkronos Salute was created, followed by Multimedia Adnkronos (MAK) in 1999. Among the most advanced multimedia groups in Europe, the group is structured as a holding company around the news agency, expanding its technological innovation, efficient management of human resources, financial and entrepreneurial resources. The group pioneers online content, becoming known for offering a vast array of products and services, in a market which is constantly evolving, where information and communication take advantage of sophistocated methodologies, working with qualified personnel with an international outlook.
