Aki Crises Today
Adnkronos International (AKI) was created in 2003 as a media service dedicated to information exchange, research and dialogue between Italy, Europe and the emerging areas of Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
AKI already has a solid presence in many spheres - television production, non-fiction publishing, website design, conferences and communication - and offers its services in Arabic, English and Italian.
AKI NEWS SERVICE
Produced in Arabic, English and Italian, the daily news services of AKI cover and analyse issues and events in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. The editorial line is characterised by a broad geographic and multicultural coverage which gives priority to major international issues, from questions of strategic security to relationships between different cultures.
The Arab news wire is sent to the most important institutions and the major news organisations in the Middle East. With some of these clients, AKI has already established mutually beneficial news exchange agreements.
The English news wire is aimed specifically at the Asian market, and is establishing daily working relationships with some of the most prestigious newspapers in the region. Due to its swift news coverage and completeness, the Italian newswire quickly established a solid reputation for credibility.
As well as a team of journalists based in its bureaux in Rome and Brussels, AKI has a network comprising dozens of correspondents located in many major news centres around the world.
The tri-lingual multimedia website, satellite links and other transmission and broadcast systems, form the base of a distribution network capable of serving the widest possible market.
AKI CRISES TODAY
As well as managing a comprehensive database on the crises and conflicts of our times, 'AKI Crises Today' (ACT) offers the analysis and background information needed to understand these phenomena.
ACT was conceived as a centre to coordinate research activities, prepare dossiers, and organise cultural events and discussion forums, that would complement AKI's news reporting and analysis.
ACT periodically offers in-depth dossiers that are regularly updated on issues of global strategic importance. Conferences, seminars and round-tables are arranged to present the results of ongoing research and provide a valuable opportunity for debate between experts and the wider public.
MULTIMEDIA - AKI TV
Adnkronos International (AKI) is recognised as a successful producer of television programmes in Arabic, English and Italian, destined for the Middle Eastern, Asian and Italian markets. Thanks to specialised staff of various nationalities, languages and religions, the news and cultural formats are prepared with maximum understanding and respect for the different characteristics of each television market.
AKI publishes a series of non-fiction books that studies issues arising from the interaction of different civilisations and cultures. These books, also characterised by their accuracy and expertise, further contribute to spreading awareness of contemporary moderate Islam.
AKI TV provides Italy-based coverage for several foreign networks including Lebanon's LBC, the al-Jazeera Children Channel; provides pre-packaged programmes (Hiwarat, Qadha, and Iracheni) to clients; and, through a news exchange agreement with Indonesia's Metro TV, produces the "A window on Italy" which is broadcast in three languages: English, Mandarin and, in the near future, Indonesian.
