Iraq: Woman would-be suicide bomber blocked

Baghdad, 7 August (AKI) - Iraqi security forces on Tuesday arrested what they said was a 60-year-old female suicide bomber outside a bank in Baquba a city just north of Baghdad, a local news agency reported.

The woman was apprehended as she was trying to detonate explosives strapped on a belt she was wearing, the NINA agency said.

The woman's arrest comes just days after security forces took into custody several alleged al-Qaeda militants apparently specialising in the training of female suicide bombers.
