Afghanistan: 'Three' US troops killed by blasts




Kabul, 27 August (AKI) - Three US soldiers were killed Friday in by bombs in separate attacks in Afghanistan, according to news agencies citing NATO. Two troops died from roadside bombs in eastern Afghanistan, while a third soldier was killed in the southern part of the country the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said.

Another roadside device hidden in a water bucket killed two policemen and two civilians in northern Kunduz province, according to a news report that cited a provincial official. Fourteen people were wounded in that attack.

Kunduz is a Taliban and Al-Qaeda stronghold. The Afghan government has little control over the area.
