Soccer: Qatari ruler's wife 'eyeing top international club'
Montecarlo, 31 July (AKI) - The emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifah al-Thani's wife, Princess Mozah bint Nasser Al Missner, could purchase a top international soccer team very soon, according to sports observers. The princess heads Qatar's investment authority, which recently moved to acquire a significant stake in sports car maker Porsche.
She is involved in numerous cultural and business ventures and on Thursday was in Monaco to see Italian Serie A team Inter take the 2009 Pirelli cup with a 1-0 win over Monaco.
Pirelli owner, Marco Tronchetti Provera, also attended the match, with his Tunisian-born wife Afef Jnifen and his son Giovanni.
