
Italy: Energy cost fuels rise in inflation

Rome, 28 June (AKI) - Italian inflation rose 3.6 percent in June boosted by increasing energy costs, compared with a year earlier, according to national statistics office Istat, using a European Union measure.
Prices advanced 3.3 percent according to an Italian method to measure prices, according to the preliminary data.
Energy and housing led the price increase, rising 7.6 percent from June 2011, Istat said. The price of food rose 2.8 percent.
