New Orleans, 8 June (AKI) - Ylenia Carrisi, granddaughter of late American movie star Tyrone Power who disappeared 17 years ago during a visit to New Orleans, is alive and well and living in an Arizona convent, according to German magazine Freizeit Revue.
New Orleans police chief Warren J. Riley told the weekly that the former letter turner for Italy's version of the Wheel of Fortune is living in the Sant'Anthony's Greek Orthodox convent near Phoenix.
In an interview with Adnkronos, Carrisi's father, Italian easy listening star Al Bano, called the news ''shameful speculation containing not a bit of truth."
During a trip to New Orleans in January 1994, 23-year-old Carrisi was reportedly spotted by a security jumping into the Mississippi River. The jumper's identity was never confirmed and Carrisi's body never recovered, prompting periodic Elvis-like sightings.
