last update: September 14, 17:23
Cairo, 14 Sept. (AKI) - Egypt's Salafite Nour and Dawa parties are planning to produce a biographical film on the life of Islam's Prophet Mohammed, the al-Masri al-Youm daily reported Friday.
The half-hour documentary film “What if the world did not witness Mohammed?,” will be be translated into English and French, Nour's spokesman Mohamed Nour was cited as saying.
Dawa and Nour have appointed a team of journalists to write the script and have cast several actors and singers for the film, which will take a month to make, Nour added.
The biopic may be a response to an anti-Islam film made in the US, 'Innocence of Muslims' which has sparked protests this week in the Egyptian capital Cairo and across the Arab world after an Arabic version of the trailer was posted to the Internet.
In it, an actor playing Mohammed is portrayed as a drunken and predatory bisexual.
