Italy: Government names new ambassador to Pakistan

Rome, 15 June (AKI) - The Italian government has nominated career diplomat Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani as its new ambassador to Pakistan, the Italian foreign ministry announced on Friday.

A law graduate, Chiodi Cianfarani has served in Turkey and in several European capitals and has held several senior managerial positions in the Italian foreign ministry with responsibility for relations with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and European countries.

He has also served as a diplomatic advisor to cabinet ministers including the EU relations and culture ministers
