Berlin, 5 Sept. (AKI/Dawn) - Pakistan is the worst victim of the Afghan conflict, which has cost the lives of 40,000 of its citizens and over one billion dollars to its economy, according to Pakistan’s foreign minister, Hina Rabbani Khar, quoted by DawnNews.
As a neighbouring country, Pakistan has had to pay a huge price during the conflict in Afghanistan, Khar said, speaking at lunch hosted by Germany’s Korber Foundation in Berlin.
The last three decades had shown that peace in Afghanistan was in the interest of the region, especially in Pakistan’s interest but this requires international cooperation, Khar added.
