Baghdad, 27 Jan. (AKI) - At least 28 people were killed in Baghdad Friday when a car bomb exploded near a hospital in a Shia neighbourhood.
According to the Interior Ministry, the blast was set off by a suicide bomber at 11:00 am.
Police have sealed off the area and are attending to the wounded, according to the al-Sumaria Iraqi television station.
The attack struck the funeral procession of Mohammed al-Maliki, a real estate agent killed along with his wife and son on Thursday in the west Baghdad, the AFP news agency reported.
Attacks have increased the December departure of US troops from Iraq.
