Potenza, 29 May (AKI) - A magnitude 2.8 earthquake shook the southern Calabria and Basilicata regions early on Tuesday. Its epicentre was near the city of Cosenza, Italy's national geophysics and vulcanology institute reported.
The quake struck at 00.51 in a number of localities between the Calabrian regional capital Cosenza and Potenza in Basilicata but there were no reports of injuries or damage to buildings, Italy's civil protection agency said.
Ten days ago, a magnitude 6 earthquake left at least 7 people dead, thousands homeless and historical buildings in ruins in Italy's northeastern Emilia-Romagna region, causing some 200 million euros of damage to agriculture.
