last update: April 08, 11:22
Milan, 8 April (AKI) - Kalashnikov-wielding gunmen opened fire on two security vans along a highway outside Milan early Monday, forcing the guards to leave the armoured vehicles and escaping with ten million euros.
In the paramilitary-style attack, around 10 robbers blocked the A9 highway between Milan and Como and used smoke bombs to force motorists to stop before firing hundreds of bullets at the security vans.
No one was injured in the attack, according to initial reports. The robbers emptied the security vehicles before setting fire to a truck and fleeing with the loot aboard three cars.
