last update: August 10, 14:16
Rome, 10 Aug. (AKI) - An Italian passenger at Rome's largest airport attacked the pilot of his plane that was delayed for more than five hours.
The unnamed pilot for the Blue Panorama chartered flight directed to Karpathos, a Greek island with 139 passengers, reported the man to police after being punched, according to the Corriere della Sera newspaper.
After the passengers on board the plane at Leonardo da Vinci Airport were informed for the umpteenth time of a delay and asked to disembark, the 52-year-old man together with three others refused and started insulting the pilot.
Violence broke out when the alleged aggressor violently pushed the pilot with his baggage. The pilot suffered a fractured wrist and the passenger was kicked off the flight.
