Italy's transport minister Graziano Delrio and Brasil's planning minister Dyogo Henrique De Oliveira held talks in Rome Tuesday aimed at boosting cooperation on infrastructure projects amid a privatisation programme launched by Brasil's government.
"A good level of cooperation is underway and we hope to be able to strengthen this, focussing on projects of public interest," said Del Rio.
At their meeting, De Oliveira outlined Brasil's privatisation plans, stressing the long-term strategic vision and new framework for governance and public-private sector partnerships that underpin the programme.
Delrio expressed satisfaction over the results achieved by a bilateral working group on infrastructure coordinated by Italy's embassy in Brasil and the South American country's economic planning ministry.
The bilateral working group was tasked with identifying and selecting genuine possible joint infrastructure projects involving Italian companies.
