Dutch tourist fined for taking selfie atop Florence landmark

A 31-year-old Dutch tourist received a 160 euro fine after she climbed a famous statue of John the Baptist in central Florence to take a selfie.
Police spotted the woman as she scaled the bronze statue by contemporary sculptor Giuliano Vangi.
The statue, located on Florence's riverfront near the Ponte Vecchio bridge, was undamaged.
