The websites and digital platforms of Al Jazeera Media Network are undergoing systematic and continual hacking attempts, the Qatar-based satellite TV channel said on Thursday on its website.

"Al Jazeera Media Network under cyber attack on all systems, websites and social media platforms," it tweeted.

On its website, Al Jazeera said its services were all still working but the attacks "are gaining intensity and taking various forms".

The network has been in the crosshairs in the current dispute with several Arab states over its alleged connections to extremism.

Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt severed relations with Qatar on Monday, accusing it of supporting Islamist militants and Iran - charges Qatar calls baseless. Yemen and several other countries later followed suit.

Doha-headquartered Al-Jazeera is owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network, which is partly funded by the ruling House of Thani, although Al Jazeera officials have stated that they are editorially independent from the government of Qatar.

Other Gulf countries and Egypt blocked Al-Jazeera late May.
