A court in Rome on Tuesday gave a suspended 18 month prison sentence to Italian movie star Raoul Bova for tax evasion.
The 45-year-old heart-throb and star of many Italian box office blockbusters dodged almost 700,000 euros of tax between 2005-2011 according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors accused Bova of "making fraudulent tax returns".
Bova's lawyer, Giulia Bongiorno, said she was "certain" that the sentence would be overturned on appeal.
