Italy's president Sergio Mattarella has welcomed the nomination of Mira Daher Violides as Lebanon's new ambassador to Italy, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday.
Daher, who holds a Bachelor Degree in International Relations and Affairs from the American University of Beirut (AUB), joined Lebanon's foreign ministry in 1994 and rose through its ranks to become chief of protocol.
