Italy's foreign minister Angelino Alfano will on Thursday hold a meeting at a hotel in Rome with Ahmed Maitig, Libya's deputy prime minister and deputy head of the Libyan presidential council, the foreign ministry said.
The evening meeting between Alfano and Maitig will be at the Parco dei Principi Hotel and takes place on the sidelines of the Forum Med 2017 summit in Rome, being held from Thursday to Saturday at the hotel, the ministry stated.
Heads of state and government from some 56 countries, business leaders and representatives of international organisations are due to attend the summit centred on common security strategies, the fight against terrorism, migration, and energy and trade policy in the Mediterranean region.
