A meeting taking place in Rome on Friday will assess the role Europe can play in relations between Israel and the Palestinians nearly a year after Donald Trump became US president and over 50 years after the 1967 Six-Day War.
The conference entitled 'Israel-Palestine: 50 years of occupation, one years of Trump. What can Europe do?' is being held at Italy's Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) think-tank.
Daniela Huber from IAI's Mediterranean and Middle East programme will make the opening the remarks to the conference, which will be addressed by a range of speakers, according to the programme.
Other speakers include Israeli activist Yehuda Shaul, Daniel Levy, president of the independent policy institute the US/Middle East Project, a Palestinian civil society representative and Martin Konecny, director of the Brussels-based European Middle East project, according to the conference programme.
