At a meeting with Italy's premier Paolo Gentiloni in Berlin on Wednesday, Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel will discuss bilateral ties and "European and international issues", government spokesman Steffen Seibert said on Friday.
Gentiloni will give a speech at the Humboldt University in Berlin at 11 am before meeting Merkel for lunch at noon, Gentiloni's office said in a statement.
The two leaders will hold a press conference after their meeting, the statement said.
