Italian police on Monday arrested 11 underage boys for the alleged gang rape of a 15-year-old girl in the small town of Pimonte near Naples.
A 12th suspect was being charged separately because he is less than 14, according to prosecution sources at a Naples juvenile court.
The girl told police her boyfriend blackmailed her into having sex with a group of his friends, repeatedly threatening to post to social media a video of the couple having sex.
Police identified the members of the alleged gang and seized their cell phones after the girl reported the incident earlier this month.
All of the youths are being held in a juvenile detention centre and the girl is receiving support from a psychologist.
The girl's boyfriend is reportedly related to a Naples mafia boss.
