A court in southern Italy on Thursday sent 25 local health authority employees for trial who allegedly abetted each other's absenteeism.
The 25 workers will be tried for defrauding the Italian state.
The defendants took it in turns to clock in and out for absent colleagues at the local health authority in Santa Maria Capua Vetere near Naples, according to prosecutors.
The indictments followed an investigation and the arrests in June of 16 people, of whom seven were suspended from their posts and nine were put under house arrest.
