At least seven people were killed and six others were injured on Friday when a public bus collided with a microbus in Nasr City, state-run daily Al-Ahram Arabic reported on its website.
Two of the injured were in critical condition, Al-Ahram cited a health ministry source as saying.
Nine ambulances were dispatched to the crash site and the injured were transferred to the Medical Insurance Hospital in Nasr City.

Road accidents in Egypt claim over 13,000 lives every year, according to official figures. Although heavy trucks are responsible for almost half of them, microbuses come next. They are the most common means of transport for most Egyptians with low income.
Poor road safety, badly maintained infrastructure, and loosely enforced traffic regulations are the main causes of road accidents, Al-Ahram reported.
