Italian authorities have repatriated a Kosovan accused of supporting the Islamic State jihadist group and a Pakistani terrorism suspect, interior minister Angelino Alfano said in a statement on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Kosovan was deported on Wednesday aboard a flight from Milan's Malpensa airport while the Pakistani was expelled earlier this week from an undisclosed airport, Alfano said.

The Kosovan was resident in the northern Italian town of Fiesse in the province of Brescia, and had ties to cell headed by an unnamed Moroccan fighter who travelled to Syria in 2013 to join IS, Alfano said.

The suspect proselytised for IS online, urging radicalised Muslims to join its fighters, according to investigators. They found jihadist documents and propaganda material on his Facebook page as well as the contact details of two prominent radical Islamists who were deported from Italy, said Alfano.

The Kosovan was served with an arrest warrant on 3 November for justifying and instigating terrorism, Alfano said.

The 42-year-old Pakistani, a resident of the central Italian city of Prato, was in touch with radical Islamists in Pakistan and with supporters of "terrorist organisations active in Afghanistan," Alfano said.

He had been radicalised by a compatriot who was deported from Italy on security grounds in April last year, according to Alfano.

A total of 61 Islamist terror suspects have been deported from Italy this year and 127 since January 2015, Alfano stated.
