Italy is to strengthen its economic ties with Libya and invest in infrastructure projects in the conflict-wracked North African country, interior minister Matteo Salvini said on Monday.
In an interview with Rome-based daily Il Messaggero, Salvini said he would "soon" travel to Libya to meet its United Nations backed premier Fayez al-Serraj.
"There will be economic cooperation involving investment in projects to build roads, hospitals - infrastructure," Salvini said.
