Global energy management leader takes over Caruna's AMI operations in Finland in region's largest Managed Services contract to date
ZUG, Switzerland, Sept. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Landis+Gyr (SWISS: LAND.SW) has launched a comprehensive "Metering as a Service" solution to operate all of Caruna Oy's 660,000 smart metering points. Having been awarded an AMI service contract for Finland's largest DSO last year, the takeover of the Caruna infrastructure by Landis+Gyr's managed services program has successfully proceeded into the go-live phase. The service includes full smart metering operative responsibility for a duration of six years and an optional extension for an additional three years.
Landis+Gyr now collects and manages hourly consumption and power quality readings from 660,000 residential meters and feeds the data into Caruna's billing system. Through Landis+Gyr's service platform, more than 17 million validated metering values will be provided to Caruna and its customers every day. The scope of service also covers management of device infrastructure and data communications, as well as activation of field work operations. The integrated platform allows a variety of functionalities, including Caruna's management of demand-readings, power connection and disconnection, and meter status queries from their internal systems.
