Boris Johnson, Cherie Blair QC, Lionel Barber, Trevor Manuel and Aung San Suu Kyi to speak at the Global Law Summit

The Global Law Summit ("GLS"), the world-class international legal and business event being held in London, 23 - 25 February 2015, has announced today that Boris Johnson, current Mayor of London; Cherie Blair QC, Founder and Chair of Omnia Strategy LLP; Lionel Barber, Editor of the Financial Times; and Trevor Manuel, senior adviser to the Rothschild Group worldwide and former Cabinet Minister for South Africa from 1994 to 2014, will all be taking part in the programme.

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson said: "London is a true global capital and is home to a particularly vibrant legal services sector. As we celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, the Global Law Summit will see the great and good from the legal and business professions come together and discuss the latest developments that will help to shape this sector over the coming years."

Aung San Suu Kyi, Chairperson of the National League for Democracy (NLD) in Burma (Myanmar), will address the Summit via a video link.

The Summit will consist of keynote addresses and discussions covering international trade and investment; regulation, competition and dispute resolution; demographics, technology and globalisation; copyright protection; cross-border and intra-national dispute resolution; and societal wellbeing.

About Boris Johnson 

Boris Johnson was first elected Mayor of London in 2008, when he received the largest personal mandate in British political history, and was re-elected in 2012. Formerly Conservative MP for Henley from 2001 - 2008 and a shadow government minister for the Arts and Higher Education, Johnson was adopted in September 2014 as the Conservative Party candidate for MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip in the 2015 general election.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, is one of the founding members and current Chairperson of the National League for Democracy (NLD) in Burma (Myanmar).  Elected to Parliament in the April 2012 by-elections, San Suu Kyi represents the constituency of Kaw Hmu in Rangoon Division and chairs the Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House of Parliament) Rule of Law and Tranquillity Committee, as well as the committees for the Reinvigoration of Rangoon General Hospital and Rangoon University.
