Gazpromneft-Aero Doubles airBaltic Refueling at Moscow Airports

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia, December 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Gazpromneft-Aero has concluded a long-term agreement for two years with airBaltic, the Latvian national airline, for refueling new scheduled flights from Riga to Moscow (Vnukovo International Airport). Flights on the route commenced in November 2014 at a rate of five times a week and are serviced by Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft. The new agreement has allowed Gazpromneft-Aero to double the total refueling of airBaltic aircrafts at the Moscow Air Hub (MAH) since November to 3,000 tons of aviation fuel per year.

This is the second agreement concluded between Gazpromneft-Aero and airBaltic concerning refueling at MAH. In accordance with the current agreement, the company shall refuel the airline's aircraft at Sheremetyevo International Airport until 2016.

The companies are also expanding their cooperation abroad. In 2015 Gazpromneft-Aero will continue refueling the Latvian airline at the El Prat (Barcelona) and Charles de Gaulle (Paris) International Airports.

Gazpromneft-Aero plans to continue expanding its cooperation with airBaltic in the long-term. The airline is currently developing a network of connecting flights via Riga in over 60 airports in Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, the CIS and the Middle East.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION 

Gazpromneft-Aero is a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft. The company has been carrying out aircraft refueling and selling into-plane aviation fuel since January 1, 2008. Gazpromneft-Aero has been a strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for the supply of aviation fuel since December 2008.
