Italy's oil and gas giant Eni signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesia's state-owned energy company Pertamina on Friday that further expands their partnership to cover biorefineries, the company said in a statement.
The MoU was inked at Eni's Green Refinery in Port Marghera, near Venice "represents a step forward in Eni’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Far East", where it is seeking new business ventures, especially in the downstream sector, the statement said.
Eni has since 2001 been present in Indonesia and carries out exploration and production there. The company holds a 55 percent stake in the Muara Bakau offshore block where it started output from the Jangkrik field, in 2017.
