US First Lady Michelle Obama, her daughters Sasha and Malia and her mother will visit Milan's Expo 2015 trade fair during a visit to Europe from 15 to 21 June, the White House announced on Friday.
Milan Expo, which runs for six months from May to October is nutrition themed and Obama is the ambassador of the 'Let's Move' campaign aimed getting American families to eat healthily and to exercise.
"The presidential delegation will tour the USA Pavilion, 'American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet,' and participate in activities to lift up efforts to support healthier families and communities," the White House said.
The theme of the Expo, "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", focuses on food-related issues, in particular innovative ways of producing sustainable food to end world hunger.
Some 145 countries, from the tiny Holy See to China, are taking part in the commercial fair, which is expected to attract upwards of 20 million visitors.
The First Lady's trip to Italy will end in the northeast as she pays a visit to US soldiers garrisoned in the city of Vicenza, before taking a tour of Venice's cultural sites.
During the first stop of her European tour, she will visit the British capital and discuss improving girls' access to education worldwide, which she has been campaigning for in the 'Let Girls Learn' initiative.
