Govt to present strategy to kick-start tourism, research says Conte

The populist government will "soon" unveil a plan to relaunch Italy's tourism industry and its university system, premier Giuseppe Conte said in Rome on Wednesday.'

"We will soon present a strategy to boost research and to nurture our cultural heritage and tourism sector," Conte said.

He was speaking at the inauguration of celebrations to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Renaissance artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci.

''We need this to strengthen research and university training and to boost tourism, making the most of the talent we already have in these areas," Conte added.
