The Italian cabinet has approved the appointment of Bruno Antonio Pasquino as Italy's new ambassador to Iraq, the government announced on Tuesday.
Pasquino, 52, takes over the post from Marco Carnelos. He has previously served as Italy's ambassador to Kazakhstan and diplomatic envoy to Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan. He has also held diplomatic posts in Caracas and Copenhagen.
