Italy's foreign minister Enzo Moavero and defence minister Elizabetta Trenta will on Thursday report on conflict-wracked Libya to the lower house of parliament's foreign affairs and defence committees, its press office said in a statement.
The briefings slated for 1.45 pm will be broadcast on the Chamber of Deputies' web and satellite tv channels, the press office said.
The government is eager to stabilise Libya through continued support for the United Nations backed Government of National Accord and its efforts to bring about reconciliation between rival political factions in the oil-rich country, which has been in turmoil since the 2011 ouster of late dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
Despite a UN-sponsored peace agreement signed by Libya's rival factions in December 2015 and the appointment of the GNA led by premier Fayez al-Sarraj, the lawless country remains divided between rival administrations in the east and the west, each supported by a myriad of armed groups.
