Algeria will take part in the international conference on stabilising Libya that is being held in Palermo on 12-13 November, the country's premier Ahmed Ouyahia said on Monday during a visit by Italy's prime minister Giuseppe Conte.
"Algeria will certainly be there. The invitation is for the president and he will decide who attends," Ouyahia told reporters at a joint press conference after talks with Conte in Algiers.
Algeria "will work with Italian authorities" to help bring peace to conflict wracked Libya, he said.
"I hope the conference will help achieve this and lead to solutions that are in the interests of the Libyan people, who are our friends and neighbours,"Ouyahia stated.
Libya's main power brokers as well as key international players have signalled they will attend the two-day conference in Palermo next week.
