The Italian foreign ministry will on Saturday in Rome host a seminar on Italian Women Abroad that aims to highlight the contribution that women make "in every area", the ministry said in a statement.
The Second Seminar of Italian Women Abroad will be opened by Italy's undersecretary for foreign affairs and international cooperation, Ricardo Antonio Merlo and The General Council for Italians Abroad (CGIE) secretary-general Michele Schiavone, the statement said.
CGIE Women's Group coordinator Edith Pichler and vice-secretary-general Silvana Mangione will introduce the event, which is taking place at The Church Village hotel in Rome's western suburbs.
The seminar will review the evolving role of women in the network of Italian communities outside Italy and lay the groundwork for a planned First World Conference of Italian Women Abroad, according to the statement.
