A total 103 asylum-seekers will land at Practica di Mare military airport outside Rome on Wednesday aboard a humanitarian flight from Libya, Italy's interior ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Last month, Italy's anti-migrant interior minister Matteo Salvini met 51 refugees and asylum-seekers from Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan, mainly women and children, when they arrived at Pratica di Mare from Niger.
Further humanitarian flights bringing refugees and asylum-seekers to Italy would follow, Salvini told reporters.
Before flying to Italy, the refugees and asylum seekers, who had spent time in detention centres in Libya, were screened for international protection by the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR.
The group was due to be sheltered in community homes across Italy run by a Catholic charity.
