United Nations envoy to Libya Gassan Salame on Wednesday held talks with powerful Libyan military commander Khalifa Haftar in al-Rajma east of Benghazi, The Libyan Address news site reports.
The Libyan Address is close to Haftar, whose self-styled Libyan National Army militia is headquartered in Rajma.
UN-backed premier Fayez al-Sarraj had a meeting with Haftar in the United Arab Emirates on 27 February at which they agreed to end the transitional stage in chaos-stricken Libya and hold new elections, the UN mission reported.
The Abu Dhabi meeting was held at the invitation of Salame, UNSMIL said.
