Italy's foreign minister Enzo Moaovero was on Tuesday due to give an opening address at Rome's private Luiss university's first annual forum for foreign and Italian diplomats, institutional representatives and Italian companies that operate abroad, the Luiss said on its website.
The forum's morning session was slated to kick off with speeches from foreign ministry director-general Elisabetta Belloni and a welcome address from Luiss president Emma Marcegaglia among other speakers, according to the statement.
A panel discussion on the future of Europe with Professors Sergio Fabbrini, Mark Thatcher and Thomas Christiansen, moderated by Luiss School of Journalism director Gianni Riotta was due to follow, as well as commentary and discussion with Luiss professors on the outcome of last month's European election, the statement said.
