Italy's premier Giuseppe Conte held talks on Thursday at the prime minister's office in Rome with his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama, Conte's office said.
Rama's talks earlier on Thursday with Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio centred on Albania's recent earthquake, on bolstering bilateral ties and the integration of Albania and other Western Balkans countries in the European Union, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Albania became a member of NATO in 2009 and Italy strongly supports it bid to join the EU. Currently an official candidate country, Albania hopes to open accession talks with the 28-member bloc this Spring.
