The European Union's new mission in the Mediterranean to enforce an arms embargo against Libya will aid the country's stability and stop migration, Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio said on Wednesday.
'If Irini succeeds in its mission to implement the (United Nations) arms embargo against Libya, it will certainly contribute to stabilising the country and to slowing down if not stopping migration flows," Di Maio stated.
Di Maio was addressing lawmakers at question time in the lower house of parliament.
