Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, had a telephone conversation with the Croatian Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman on Thursday, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
I spoke with my Italian colleague Luigi Di Maio, who expressed his gratitude Croatia for EU2020HR," Grlic-Radman tweeted after the phone talks, referring to his country's six-month European Union presidency which ended on Tuesday.
Di Maio praised Croatia's " contributions during unprecedented circumstances", Grlic-Radman tweeted, referring to this year's COVID-19 pandemic.
"We discussed the importance of the Committee of Ministers, whose 4th meeting is scheduled to take place in Zagreb, the tweet added.
