Turning off the TV and radio "for five or ten minutes a day" and reflecting silently on your life can bring joy, Pope Francis told Catholics on Thursday.
"I invite you to spend five or ten minutes every day without your televisions or your radios, and to sit down in silence and think about your lives," Francis said, quoted by Vatican Radio.
"Your blessings and difficulties, sins and forgiveness - everything," Francis said in his sermon as he celebrated mass at the Vatican hotel.
Doing so, amid the many bad things in life, Catholics will find "the beauty of the love of God, of his mercy and of hope, he went on.
"And I am sure that we will all be filled with joy," Francis said.
