United States secretary of state John Kerry will attend a meeting in Rome next month of members of the international coalition against the Islamic State jihadist group.
Italy's foreign minister Paolo Gentiloni will chair the Rome meeting slated for 2 February and the US special envoy to the 23-member coalition, Brett Mc Gurk, will also attend.
The US has asked coalition members to boost their military contributions in Iraq and Syria against IS after the deadly attacks in Paris in November that killed 130 people.
Saudi Arabia, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark Egypt, the United Emirates , France, Germany, Jordan, Iraq, Italy, Kuwait, Norway, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Qatar, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden and Turkey belong to the anti-IS coalition.
