Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met Russian special envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, overnight in Riyadh, state-run Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.
During their meeting, Laventiev and Bin Salman, who is also Saudi defence minister, discussed the latest developments in the Syrian conflict, SPA said.
The Syrian crisis was also at the centre of a meeting between Iran, Russia and Turkey's foreign ministers, which took place on Sunday in Antalya ahead of a tripartite summit being held on Wednesday in Russia's Black Sea coastal resort of Sochi.
