NATO-EU cooperation under the spotlight in Rome

The future of relations between NATO and the European Union will be in the crosshairs of a conference taking place in the Italian capital Rome next week, where speakers will include Italy's defence minister Roberta Pinotti and chief of defence staff Claudio Graziano.

The 'NATO-EU Cooperation - What Future?' conference is being held on 6 December and is being organised by Italian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the Italian think-tank Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI).

Other speakers at the event include the director-general of Italy's foreign ministry, Elisabetta Belloni, the head of the Italian lower house of parliament's foreign affairs committee, Fabrizio Cicchitto, Italy's chief of defence staff Claudio Graziano, the head of the Italian Senate's defence committee, Nicola Latorre, the lower house of parliament's defence committee head Saverio Garofani, and the CEO of Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, Giuseppe Bono.

NATO Parliamentary Assembly president Paolo Alli and IAI president Ferdinando Nelli Feroci will open the conference, while Pinotti will make its closing remarks.
