Boosting bilateral cooperation was the focus of talks in Istanbul on Monday between Italy's finance minister Giovanni Tria and his Turkish colleague Berat Albayrak.
As well as his "very productive" meeting with Albayrak, Tria held "in-depth" talks with Italian entrepreneurs on the opportunities in Turkey despite the country's current economic difficulties.
Tria earlier met the presidents of the export credit agency and the chambers of commerce as well as representatives of major Italian companies including Fca, Pirelli, Unicredit, Salini Impregilo, Astaldi, Italferr and Barilla.
The minister also held talks in Istanbul with Simone Kaslowski, the head of Turkey's main business association, Tusiad.
In all his meetings, Tria underlined the complementarity between Italy and Turkey's economies and drew attention to possible future investment opportunities.
The current value of trade between Italy and Turkey is around 18 billion euros.
