Italy and Mexico have "very high-level" political dialogue and the two nations are also cooperating in the scientific, technological and cultural spheres, foreign minister Angelino Alfano said on Tuesday in Rome.
"We have political dialogue at a very high level, " Alfano said after the fifth meeting of the Italy-Mexico commission in Rome.
As evidence of this, Alfano cited the two countries' shared membership of the G20 and a group seeking to build consensus for the reform of the United Nations security council.
Italy and Mexico have also signed a memorandum of understanding on scientific and technological cooperation over the period 2018-2010 and an agreement in the field of cinema, he noted.
